Summer Housing Information

Undergraduate Summer Housing 2014 – Applications Due 8 Business Days Prior to Check-In to Avoid $50 Late Fee
  • Summer 2014 Housing Application – Available March 3, 2014
  • Reminder: Assignments are based on availability, and summer fees will be placed on the fee bill after the assignment is made.

  • Spring to May Term Housing Transition
    • Spring 2014 residents assigned to May Term housing will transition to their May Term assignment during the week of May 11th. Exact dates and times will be announced the week of May 11th.
  • Summer to Fall 2014 Housing Transition
    • August 15, 2014: Summer residents living on-campus on this date with a Fall 2014 assignment will transition to their Fall 2014 assignment by August 15th. No exceptions will be made to move on a later date.
  • Summer Repair Work
    Hilltop Halls (Hale & Ellsworth) and Garrigus Suites
    In preparation for the construction of a new residence hall, extensive work could take place around the exterior of the buildings in the Hilltop area during Summer 2014. Crews could be on site taking surveys and it is possible that foundation work could begin. Some construction work could be noisy and take place as early as 7:00am. Work will likely begin toward the middle of summer and may go the entire summer.

  • Eligibility for Summer 2014 Graduate On-Campus Housing: Must be a Spring 2014 on-campus graduate resident
  • Spring 2014 graduate on-campus residents who do not have Fall 2014 on-campus housing can request summer housing through June 30, 2014.
  • Summer Graduate Housing - Assignments Always Based on Availability

Spring to Summer Housing Transition
  • Graduate residents who Residential Life is unable to accommodate in their Spring 2014 assignment for the summer will work with Residential Life to transition to their summer assignment.
  • Graduate Housing Summer Storage
    • Residential Life is unable to offer summer storage. Students should look at off-campus storage options.

    $55.50/night for 3-6 nights

    Includes linen packet (2 sheets, pillowcase, pillow, 2 towels, facecloth)

  • Early Arrivals/Late Departures
    • Students who need to arrive early/depart late must indicate these dates on the housing application.
  • Summer Housing Fees
    • Summer housing fees are charged to student fee bills
    • An email is sent by the Bursar’s Office to the student’s UConn email account when new charges are posted.
    • After all appropriate fees have been paid, the Department of Residential Life will inform students of their housing assignment at the time of check-in, or prior to check-in via UConn email account.

  • Smoke-Free Residence Halls
    • All on-campus buildings are smoke-free per Connecticut State Law. Damage charges may be assessed for residents who do not comply.
