We are excited to have you living on-campus at UConn! For students arriving after the start of classes, check in will be located in the Residential Life office (Whitney Hall, East Campus) between 9am and 4pm, Monday through Friday. For students planning to arrive outside of these hours, please email livingoncampus@uconn.edu in advance for arrival accommodations.
Spring 2025 move-in dates and arrival information will be posted during the fall semester. Students and families will receive email communication in the coming months about December move-out and January move-in information.
Fall 2024 Early Arrival Move-In

If living on-campus for the Summer until August 16 and living on-campus for the Fall 2024 semester you will receive an email in early August with transition instructions
If part of an approved group to arrive early, you will receive an email on how to check-in through the office of Residential Life the week of August 12. Not sure if you are part of an approved group, please reach out directly to the staff or faculty member that coordinates your group.
If you need to move in early as an individual you will be able to apply to arrive on one of the following days August 20, 22 or 23. The application process will take place from August 5-14. The application can be found in your MyHousing portal in the application section. After the application closes, no exceptions will be made.
If you are arriving as part of a group you will be sent an email to sign up for a time on August 12. If you are arriving as an approved individual, you will be sent an email to sign up for a time on August 15.

Important Information about Move-In Weekend:
- Students must be mindful of time when unloading their vehicle as others need to unload as well. Vehicles will need to be unloaded to the curb or designated space. Vehicles will need to be moved away from the building after unloading to a designated lot in order to provide spaces for others to unload.
- Only one vehicle is allowed to come to the stagging lot and unload area. If you have a second vehicle that will need to come after 3:00pm on your day of move-in to unload.
- Students should bring their own hand truck or dolly to assist with carrying items into their residential area. UConn will not be providing carts/dollies or volunteers to help move during fall 2024.
- Please be aware that student mailrooms will not be open until the first day of classes, August 26. You should make sure to bring with you what you need until Friday August 30.

- All students returning to their same room as the fall semester can begin to arrive back at 7:00am for the spring semester. Students will have to complete a self-check-in process in their My Housing in order to gain access to the residence halls.
Sunday January 19 from 10:00am to 4:00pm
- All students that are going to a new room for the spring semester (Mid-Year Room Changes, New to campus housing students) will go to the Charter Oak Community Center to pick up their keys and be checked in. From there students will proceed to their Residence Hall to move in.

- Instructions:
- Bring your UConn ID or a photo ID along with your student ID number (PeopleSoft number). ResLife staff will need this information to distribute keys and other check-in materials.
- Follow the signs to the appropriate area (Harbor Point or 1385 Washington/87 Franklin).
- Students should get out of the vehicle, walk to the table with their ID, and get their keys.
- Families, please stay in the car to keep the process quick.
- Once the student picks up their key, they will return to the vehicle and head to their designated residential hall.
Designated Residential Hall:
- Harbor Point - NV Residents:
- Drop-off Location: 215 Washington Blvd
- Parking: 215 Washington Blvd (free parking lot)
- Instructions: Park your car and start unloading. Head to the unloading dock attached to NV. Follow signs and staff directions.
- Harbor Point - Allure Residents:
- Drop-off Location: 850 Pacific Street, Stamford, CT 06901
- Parking: 6 Harbor Point Road, Stamford, CT 06902 (free parking garage)
- Instructions: Pick up available move-in items at the drop-off location, then proceed to the parking garage and head to the unloading dock attached to Allure on Dyke Lane. Follow signs and staff directions.
- 87 Franklin Street Residents:
- Drop-off Location: Underneath the 87 Franklin St building
- Parking: Limited space; overflow parking at 1194 Washington Blvd
- Instructions: The parking lot has low ceilings and exposed water pipes; avoid large U-Hauls or tall trucks. If necessary, unload at 1194 Washington Blvd.
- 1385 Washington Blvd Residents:
- Drop-off Location: Underneath the 1385 Washington Blvd apartment building
- Instructions:
- Unload all items within 30-45 minutes.
- Move the car to 1194 Washington Blvd for longer parking.
- Return to the apartment to move belongings; no elevator, so plan for 2-3 flights of stairs each trip.
General Guidelines:
- Staff will be at residence halls to direct students to entrances.
- Each student is allowed only one vehicle for moving in belongings.
- Vehicle Restrictions: Avoid U-Hauls and moving trucks as all parking lots/garages have low-bearing ceilings.

- Instructions: Unload belongings within 60 minutes. Staff will direct students to entrances.
General Guidelines:
- Staff will be at residence halls to direct students to entrances.
- Each student is allowed only one vehicle for moving in belongings.
- Vehicle Restrictions: Avoid U-Hauls and moving trucks as all parking lots/garages have low-bearing ceilings.
Parking Services:
Any student who has paid for a parking pass for the Stamford Residence Hall will need to follow the above instructions and can later move their cars into the Residence Hall parking area. For more information about the parking pass please visit https://park.uconn.edu/stamford-campus/.
- 900 Washington Blvd- If you order ahead of time, you may be able to pick up your garage pass during move-in.
- 65 & 77 Prospect Parking- After you purchase your parking pass through parking services, you will work directly with 203Living to receive your parking spot and fob to get into the garage.
- 87 Franklin Street- There is a limited number of spaces on the lot to be purchased. Please work with parking services to obtain a parking pass.
- Harbor Point Properties- After you purchase your parking pass through parking services, you will work with the Residential life office to acquire your garage pass.
- 1385 Washington Blvd- There is a limited number of spaces on the lot to be purchased. Please work with parking services to obtain a parking pass
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Harbor Point- Transportation Services:
Residents of Harbor Point have access to the Harbor Point Trolley and may take this to the downtown Stamford area. They may also take a quick walk to the train station and hop on the CT Transit- STAM 355 bus to get to campus.
Card Access:
Your University student ID card gives you access to your residential area. Please make sure to have your ID card with you at check-in. If you have not received your ID card, please have another photo ID available to provide identification for check-in. If you still need to obtain an ID card, please submit a photo for your student ID at http://onecard.uconn.edu/the-one-card/online-photo-submission/. ID’s will be created at Storrs and mailed to students prior to move-in. Students should receive communication from the Stamford Welcome Center (welcome.stamford@uconn.edu) indicating that their One Card ID has arrived on campus and is ready for pick-up. For more information about UConn One Card/activating your ID to have access to our building please visit: https://onecard.uconn.edu/.
The Welcome Center (where you can pick up your ID) will be open move-in weekend on the following days and times:

Meal Plan:
The UConn Stamford Local Eatery Meal Plan is a new program that connects hungry Huskies with Stamford’s local eateries. The meal plan allows students to purchase blocks of meals for use at off-campus, independent, restaurants. Participating restaurants will provide healthy, well-balanced options any time during their regular hours of operation. You can sign up at the link below, and the charges for the meal plan will be applied to students fee bill in August.

Move-In Bins & Elevator Access:
The availability of bins and dollies will be very limited. Students are encouraged to bring their own dollies or other means of transporting their items. Elevator access will also be limited, and students may need to use stairwells to move their belongings. Please plan accordingly.
For 1385 WB residents ONLY: There is no elevator access. Be prepared to carry your items up 2 to 3 flights of stairs.
Main Campus Weekend Hours:
Move-In Weekend is a great time opportunity to get prepared for the first day of classes. Please feel free to stop by the main campus building to purchase/pick up your books and any apparel to represent UConn! Also, if you haven’t picked up your One Card- you may do so at our welcome center at the main building.

Your apartment/room assignment is now live on your MyHousing portal. You can see your building, apartment, and bedroom assignment. This year, UConn Stamford has acquired new properties for residents. Please read below to understand the distinctions between the buildings.
If your apartment/room assignment says:
- 900 WB: You will be residing at 900 Washington Blvd.
- Address: 900 Washington Blvd, Stamford, CT 06901
- Room Number: The first number indicates your floor. For example, 202 means you are on the 2nd floor; 418 means you are on the 4th floor.
- If you have a letter next to your room assignment, you are assigned to that specific bedroom.
- If it says “loft,” you are assigned to the 2nd level of a 6th floor apartment
- 65 Prospect or 77 Prospect: You will be residing at either 65 Prospect or 77 Prospect apartments.
