Our staff is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help with questions, lock outs and emergency situations.

Recreation
Guests may use the fitness facility and pool in Nathan Hale Inn when arranged as part of the conference package. A fitness facility is also located in the Hugh S. Freer Fieldhouse for a fee. The Fieldhouse is located at 2111 Hillside road and the phone is (860) 486-0002. Please check with your program coordinator to find out if the Recreation Facility is part of your conference package. If not, please contact Recreation in advance for availability and fees.
Lost and Found
All lost and found items will be held at the One Summer Housing Desk during office hours for the duration of the conference. After the conference, all items will be stored at the desk for 30 days. Please call (860) 486-2697 if you have lost or found an item.
Locked Out, Lost Keys & Repair/Maintenance
If you are locked out of your room, have lost your keys or you notice something is not in proper working order, you must contact the One Summer Housing Desk immediately, to be let into your room or to report the loss/damage. There is a charge of $100 per lock change (safety and security reasons) for lost keys. The total amount will be billed to the conference account. Campus Parking
Visitors may park only in parking lots designated for their conference with a paid parking tag. Parking in our garages is available at a daily and hourly rate. For more information, please call Parking & Transportation Services at (860) 486-4930 or visit https://park.uconn.edu.
Laundry
There are laundry facilities located in each Residence Hall Complex area and are no charge for conference guests. All washers are front loading (high efficiency) and need HE laundry detergent.
Safety and Security
Emergency “Blue Light” phones are located throughout campus. These phones connect directly with the UConn Police Department. Residence Hall security is a shared responsibility of University staff and guests. All Residence Hall s are secured 24 hours a day. It is important that guests do not leave their room unlocked or lend keys to guests not living in the room. Given the risk to the overall community, we also ask that our guests do not engage in any propping of doors.
Keys
A room key is issued to each conference guest. Please carry your key with you and keep your room locked at all times. If you are locked out of your room, call the One Summer Housing Desk at (860) 486-2697 or see a One Summer Staff Member. Please return your key at your check out time. Failure to return your room key will result in a $100 per lock change fee.
Meals
If your conference has made arrangements for meals, you will either use your issued conference card or pay in cash to gain access to the dining hall.
Linens
Bed linens are only provided for conference guests if pre-arranged by your conference coordinator. If you are part of a program that does not provide linens you need to rent linens, please go to the One Summer Housing Desk. The cost is $10/packet and will be charged to the Conference. We are unable to accept payment.

Residence Hall Policies
Alcohol
Alcohol is not permitted in the Residence Halls. Due to the varying age of guests who stay on campus and in the halls over the summer there is no alcohol allowed. Illegal substances are never allowed at UConn.
Pets
Pets and animals of any kind are prohibited for health, safety and sanitation reasons, except when approved through The Center for Students with Disabilities. The Center for Students with Disabilities website is csd.uconn.edu.
Windows
For safety reasons, do not drop, throw, or project any objects out a window. Please do not remove any screens from room windows or in public areas of the residence halls. Open of security screens except in an emergency situation is prohibited. To conserve energy, please keep windows closed in air conditioned buildings.
Appliances
UL approved popcorn poppers, coffee makers, and microwave ovens are permitted. Mini refrigerators (120 volts, 2 amps) are permitted and must be UL approved, equipped with a three prong grounded lug and must be maintained in a safe and sanitary condition. Refrigerators may be 36” in height or less, and preferably only one per room. University policy prohibits the possession/use of toasters and hotplates in residence halls.
Quiet Hours
The University observes the following quiet hours: Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm to 7:00am and Friday-Saturday 12:00am to 7:00am. We ask that our guests respect quiet hours both inside and outside of the residence halls. Guests are expected to be considerate of their neighbors during all hours of the day.
Damages & Loss of Furnishings
The furnishings and your room should be left in the same condition as you found them. You may be billed for any damage or loss of furnishings. Furniture must stay in the rooms, if they are not in the room when you are there or after you depart, they will be considered stolen.
Fire Safety
For your safety, evacuate the building immediately when the fire alarm sounds. The alarm will sound again to let you know it is safe to re-enter the building. The burning of candles and/or incense is prohibited in residence halls.
Smoking
In accordance with Connecticut State Law, no smoking is permitted in any areas of the residence halls. Smoking outside of the building must be at least 25 feet from any entrance.
Firearms, Weapons & Dangerous Devices
The possession of firearms, ammunition, and any weapons including but not limited to knives, bows, guns, BB guns, paint ball guns, soft air guns, slingshots, and launching devices, is prohibited in on-campus housing. This also extends to any projectile objects, firecrackers, gunpowder and other explosive or potentially dangerous objects.

The William Benton Art Museum, originally a dining hall in the 1920’s, is now UConn’s art museum. The museum is also home of the Beanery, a quaint artsy coffee shop.
Dairy Bar dairybar.uconn.edu
The UConn Dairy Bar is open daily and offers a wide selection of ice cream made on site with ingredients produced here at UConn.
Horsebarn Hill
Home to the University’s agriculture program Horsebarn Hill houses several different kinds of livestock cared for by UConn Students. It welcomes visitors to walk around and look at all of the animals that live there.
